"Cosy Inn with excellent staff teamwork"

We stayed two nights in a group of six. The rooms were clean and there are dog friendly ones set aside to book specifically. After unpacking, the bar was welcoming with good seating and a lot fire. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. Again, watch reserving, as things get busy, and there are few dog friendly spots, but the staff tried really hard to accommodate what you needed. An excellent breakfast choice was available next day in the room rate and was well served by the ladies on duty.

"Perfect"

From the warm welcome to the great food, good sleep- it was all lovely! I travel a fair amount for work and I really appreciated the reception when I arrived- it felt very natural and homey rather than robotic like at many hotels. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, my room was great. I had been attending a training at Ashridge and was never thrilled with the rooms there- I wish I would have started staying at Kings Arms sooner. I'd definitely recommend it to others and would stay here again

"Comfortable, central and welcoming"

We enjoyed a great overnight stay here. The room was clean and comfy, well equipped and minibar sensibly priced. The staff were helpful and friendly. The pub itself is lovely and clearly a lively and popular attraction on a Saturday night. There was a great choice for breakfast from traditional to more modern vegetarian options. I would definitely stay here again.

"Family Visit"

Came here with the Family as a little catch up and to grab some lunch. I was surprised when we walked in, and i saw how nice it was inside. I was expecting it to be the same old pub like anywhere else round the country, but boy was i surprised. We were seated near the pizza oven, which obviously made me get a pizza! The menu is different, but VERY nice! For starter we had haloumi fingers which were LOVELY! And for the main i had the pizza, which was cooked to perfection. Overall a very good place.

"Food with a bang"

After a night watching the fireworks we decided to head over to the Kings Arms for a drink and possibly food if a table was available (we'd been before and the food was great). We were delighted to have been immediately offered a seat in the restaurant. Service was brilliant, food was excellent and the bill was surprisingly reasonable! They now have some fantastic and imaginative vegan options too which is a big plus point.

"Not your average pub hotel - this one is special"

Good size room, clean, comfortable and quiet. High standard of facilities and even included an Espresso coffee machine in the room. Unusual but excellent breakfast. The breakfast menu is part of the overall menu selection and is priced but there didn't seem to be a limit on what I had - lovely eggs benedict perfectly cooked. Table service - not standard buffet style. Ideal location as I was using public transport - railway station 10 minutes walk and buses pass the door. Berkhamsted is an attractive town anyway, good local shops and there is even an historic castle.
